qPTMS™ (Quantitative Personalized Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) treatment at the Brain Wellness Center offers a unique, comprehensive approach to diagnosing and treating what is commonly known as Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Our advanced technique combines state-of-the-art brain imaging technology with targeted treatment plans to address the underlying brain dysfunctions that produce attention regulation difficulties.
Understanding qPTMS™: Gentle Magnetic Waves for Brain Efficiency
qPTMS™ uses gentle magnetic waves to help the brain become more active and more efficient in data processing and neural connectivity. This innovative technology is derived from MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) technology, which has a long-standing safety record. With over 95,000,000 MRIs administered yearly, no negative side effects have been recorded in the billions of MRIs performed worldwide.
It’s important to note that the entire course of 50 qPTMS™ sessions, each lasting between 10-20 minutes, exposes the patient to less magnetic energy than a single MRI scan. This makes qPTMS™ an exceptionally safe and non-invasive treatment option.
Rethinking ADHD: It’s About Attention Regulation, Not Deficit
In my 35 years of practice, I dare say there is No ADHD as it’s commonly understood. I am yet to encounter a child with a deficit of attention. Quite the opposite, every one of my patients had excellent attention to video games or their favorite TV show. They just lacked the ability to regulate their attention and focus it on what needed to get done instead of focusing on what they enjoyed.
Therefore, ADHD is the wrong acronym, because there is no deficit of attention, but there certainly is a deficit in regulating attention. We must call it Attention Regulation Deficit, or ARD.
The Limitations of ADHD Medications
While medications can be effective for some individuals, they come with several drawbacks:
- Negative side effects: ADHD medications can cause various side effects, including sleep problems and appetite suppression.
- Limited effectiveness: Medications typically must be out of the child’s system by 4 or 5 pm to avoid impacting sleep which mean problems with impulsivity, hyperactivity and poor focus on homework.
- Temporary relief: Even when medications work, they only mask symptoms for a few hours and provide no sustained gains if not taken the next day.
The qPTMS™ Advantage for Attention Regulation Treatment
Our qPTMS™ treatment offers a revolutionary alternative:
- Thorough Diagnosis: We go beyond quick questionnaires, utilizing advanced brain mapping to identify specific areas of dysfunction related to attention regulation.
- Targeted Treatment: qPTMS™ technology allows for precise stimulation of affected brain regions involved in attention regulation.
- Long-term Results: Unlike medication, qPTMS™ aims to rewire less efficient circuitry in the brain, potentially leading to sustained, long-term improvements in attention regulation.
- Non-Invasive and Safe: qPTMS™ is a painless, drug-free treatment with minimal side effects, suitable for both children and adults with attention regulation difficulties.
What to Expect from qPTMS™ Treatment
Our qPTMS™ treatment process includes:
- Comprehensive Initial Consultation: Thorough assessment of specific needs, medical history, and attention regulation patterns.
- Advanced Brain Mapping: QEEG analysis creates a detailed map of brain electrical activity, providing objective data for diagnosis.
- Customized Treatment Plan: Development of a qPTMS™ protocol based on brain map and symptoms, avoiding a one-size-fits-all approach.
- Treatment Sessions: Regular, non-invasive qPTMS™ sessions stimulate targeted brain areas involved in attention regulation.
- Ongoing Evaluation: Continuous monitoring of progress and treatment adjustments as needed.

Frequently Asked Questions About qPTMS™ Treatment for Attention Regulation
Q: How does your approach differ from traditional ADHD treatments?
A: We focus on attention regulation rather than attention deficit, using qPTMS™ to potentially rewire brain circuitry for long-lasting improvements without the side effects associated with traditional medications.
Q: Is qPTMS™ treatment safe for children with attention regulation issues?
A: Yes, qPTMS™ is a non-invasive and safe treatment with minimal side effects, suitable for both children and adults. The entire course of treatment exposes patients to less magnetic energy than a single MRI scan.
Q: How long does a typical qPTMS™ treatment course last?
A: Treatment duration varies depending on individual needs. A typical course may involve sessions over several weeks or months, with each session lasting 10-20 minutes.
Q: What makes your approach to diagnosis unique?
A: We use advanced brain mapping techniques to identify specific areas of dysfunction related to attention regulation, going beyond simple questionnaires to ensure a comprehensive understanding of each individual’s needs.
